New production manager

With a Sound, Lighting and Live Event Technology degree from Derby University, and an expansive career background which includes experiential exhibition and stage design, and a technical production role for retail giant Westfield, thirty-two-year-old Alex Doughty joins our team at a time when new and repeat business has led to a particularly busy period for us.

As production manager for SPARK THINKING and our healthcare specialist sister brand, Ashfield Meetings & Events (part of UDG Healthcare plc), Alex will be responsible for the technical delivery of some of our larger global events that have become synonymous with the SPARK and Ashfield brands.

“I’m really looking forward to channelling my experience into creating something really special for our clients,” says Alex, whose CV includes a short time in theatre immediately after university, before joining an AV company based in Sydney, Australia. “SPARK THINKING encourages clients to explore all ideas, be creatively confident and brave in their decision-making – an ethos I believe in whole-heartedly as I’ve witnessed some incredibly powerful events that have followed this path.”

Dan Walker, SPARK THINKING’s Head of Live Events, agrees that Alex is a welcome addition to the team.

“SPARK THINKING went from strength to strength in 2018 as we not only gained new business, but importantly we’ve retained and built on existing client partnerships,” says Dan. “Alex’s broad experience and passion for the industry will only reinforce our talented team and I’m looking forward to reflecting his technical expertise and unique creative thinking in our ideas and delivery for clients.”
